Overview

HPV16-E7 A*02:01 TCR-T is an autologous T-cell receptor-engineered T-cell (TCR-T) therapy being developed by Anocca for the treatment of HPV16-positive cancers. The therapy consists of a patient's own T cells that have been genetically modified to express a specific T-cell receptor (TCR) capable of recognizing the HPV16 E7 oncoprotein peptide when presented by the HLA-A*02:01 allele. The E7 protein is a viral oncoprotein essential for the maintenance of the malignant phenotype in HPV-driven cancers, such as cervical and head and neck squamous cell carcinomas. By targeting this intracellular antigen, the engineered T cells can selectively identify and eliminate tumor cells. The therapy is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for patients with HPV16-positive solid tumors who express the HLA-A*02:01 allele.
