Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HPvax is a non-infectious, recombinant protein-based vaccine designed to provide acquired immunity against Human Papillomavirus (HPV) types 16 and 18. It is manufactured by Popular Pharmaceuticals Ltd. and is indicated for the prevention of HPV infection, premalignant cervical lesions, cervical cancer, adenocarcinoma in situ, and cervical intraepithelial neoplasia caused by these specific oncogenic HPV types. The vaccine works by introducing virus-like particles (VLPs) composed of the major capsid L1 protein of HPV types 16 and 18, which stimulate the immune system to produce neutralizing antibodies.
