HQY Total Flavonoids is a botanical drug candidate derived from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) sources, specifically developed for the treatment of familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP). The drug is a purified flavonoid fraction, likely derived from *Scutellaria baicalensis* (Huangqin), and is being developed through a collaboration between Nanjing Santong Pharmaceutical Technology, Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, and other Jiangsu-based research institutes. HQY is designed to inhibit the progression of intestinal polyps in patients with FAP, a genetic condition that predisposes individuals to colorectal cancer. Its mechanism of action involves the modulation of inflammatory pathways and the inhibition of the Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway, which are critical drivers of adenomatous polyp growth. Clinical trials in China have evaluated its efficacy in reducing polyp burden and delaying the need for surgical intervention.
