HR19042 is an oral small molecule drug under development by Jiangsu Hengrui Medicine for the treatment of primary IgA nephropathy and autoimmune hepatitis. It is classified as an anti-inflammatory and urologic agent, though its precise mechanism of action has not been defined. The drug is a new molecular entity and has reached Phase II clinical trials in both autoimmune hepatitis and IgA nephropathy in China. For autoimmune hepatitis, it has been recognized as a breakthrough therapy variety by the Drug Evaluation Center in China due to its selective anti-inflammatory effects on the liver. There are currently no similar approved products for this indication in China.
