Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**HRG2010** is an oral, optimized-release fixed-dose formulation of **carbidopa + levodopa** developed by Hengrui Medicine for Parkinson's disease with motor fluctuations. Levodopa is converted to dopamine in the central nervous system to replenish deficient dopaminergic signaling, while carbidopa inhibits peripheral aromatic L-amino acid decarboxylase, increasing levodopa delivery to the brain and reducing peripheral dopaminergic adverse effects. The capsule is designed to combine rapid onset with sustained, smoother levodopa exposure, thereby reducing daily OFF time and extending ON time without troublesome dyskinesia. A Phase III study was completed, and Hengrui reported that its Chinese marketing application for HRG2010 capsules was accepted in August 2026.
