Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HRL1101 is a novel, non-calcium, non-metal phosphate binder being developed by Beijing Huarui Dingxin Technology and Hunan Mingrui Pharmaceutical for the treatment of hyperphosphatemia in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). The drug functions by sequestering dietary phosphate within the gastrointestinal tract, forming insoluble complexes that are subsequently excreted in the feces. This mechanism prevents the absorption of phosphate into the systemic circulation, thereby helping to manage elevated serum phosphorus levels, which is a common and serious complication of CKD. As of 2026, HRL1101 is undergoing Phase 1 clinical evaluation in healthy volunteers to assess its safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics.
