Overview
HRN77 is an oral small molecule positive allosteric modulator of the gamma-aminobutyric acid type A (GABAA) receptor under development by Beijing Huarui Dingxin Technology and Hunan Mingrui Pharmaceutical. It is being evaluated for the treatment of postpartum depression, depressive disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder. GABAA receptors are ligand-gated ion channels that mediate inhibitory synaptic transmission in the central nervous system, and their positive allosteric modulation enhances GABAergic signaling to alleviate symptoms of depression and anxiety. HRN77 is currently in Phase 1 clinical trials in China to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in healthy volunteers.
