Overview

HRS-1893 is a small-molecule cardiac myosin inhibitor developed by Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, specifically hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) and heart failure. It works by binding to cardiac myosin to reduce the number of myosin-actin cross-bridges, thereby decreasing myocardial hypercontractility and improving diastolic function. In 2024, Hengrui licensed the global rights (excluding Greater China) to Braveheart Bio, a US-based biotech, which renamed the asset BHB-1893. The drug is currently in Phase 3 clinical trials in China for obstructive HCM and is being evaluated in Phase 2 for non-obstructive HCM and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF).
