HRS-2129 is a novel small molecule analgesic under development for the treatment of acute and chronic pain, including postoperative pain. The drug is being developed by Shandong Suncadia Medicine (also referenced as Shandong Shengdi Pharmaceutical) and Shanghai Hengrui Medicine. As of mid-2025, it is in phase 1 clinical trials in China, with studies evaluating its safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and preliminary efficacy in both healthy volunteers and patients undergoing orthopedic surgery. The precise mechanism of action has not been disclosed or defined publicly. There are currently no similar products approved for marketing domestically or abroad[1][2][5][7].
