HRS-3773

HRS-3773 is an investigational, orally bioavailable small molecule agonist of the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor, developed by Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals. As a GLP-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1RA), it is designed to mimic the physiological effects of the endogenous GLP-1 hormone, which includes stimulating glucose-dependent insulin secretion, inhibiting glucagon release, slowing gastric emptying, and promoting satiety. These actions collectively improve glycemic control and support weight reduction, making HRS-3773 a candidate for the treatment of metabolic disorders such as type 2 diabetes mellitus and obesity. In May 2024, HRS-3773 was included in a significant global licensing agreement between Hengrui and Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS), where BMS acquired exclusive rights to develop and commercialize Hengrui's GLP-1 portfolio outside of Greater China. The drug is currently undergoing early-phase clinical evaluation to establish its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic profile.
