Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HRS-7156 is an orally bioavailable small molecule mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist (MRA) developed by Shandong Suncadia Medicine, a subsidiary of Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals. It is designed to selectively inhibit the mineralocorticoid receptor, thereby blocking the physiological effects of aldosterone, which is a key driver of inflammation, fibrosis, and fluid retention in cardiovascular and renal pathologies. The drug is currently in Phase I clinical development, where it is being evaluated for safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in healthy participants. Potential therapeutic indications for HRS-7156 include hypertension, heart failure, and chronic kidney disease.
