HRS-9231 is a macrocyclic gadolinium-based contrast agent (GBCA) developed by Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals for use in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). It is designed to enhance lesion visualization in the central nervous system (CNS) and other body regions by shortening the T1 and T2 relaxation times of nearby water protons, thereby increasing signal intensity and improving image contrast. Clinical development has progressed to Phase III for body MRI and Phase II for CNS MRI, with studies comparing its efficacy and safety to gadobutrol. The agent is also being evaluated for its pharmacokinetic profile in subjects with renal impairment.
