HRS-9563 is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) pharmaceutical agent under clinical development for the treatment of mild hypertension. It functions as an **angiotensinogen (AGT) inhibitor**, thereby reducing the expression of the AGT protein, a key component of the renin-angiotensin system involved in blood pressure regulation. By inhibiting AGT expression, HRS-9563 aims to lower blood pressure through gene-silencing mechanisms. Developed originally by Fujian Suncadia Pharmaceuticals and later advanced by Fujian Shengdi Pharmaceutical (a subsidiary of Hengrui Pharmaceutical), HRS-9563 is designed for subcutaneous administration and is currently in Phase 1 clinical trials in China for hypertension. It represents a novel approach among antihypertensive therapies, leveraging siRNA technology to target cardiovascular diseases.[1][2][3][5][7]
