Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HS-10501-2 is an investigational peptide-based triple agonist developed by Jiangsu Hengrui Medicine for the treatment of obesity and overweight. It simultaneously targets three key metabolic receptors: the glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP1R), the gastric inhibitory polypeptide receptor (GIPR), and the glucagon receptor (GCGR). This 'tri-agonist' approach aims to maximize weight loss and metabolic improvement by combining the appetite-suppressing and insulinotropic effects of GLP-1 and GIP with the energy-expenditure-promoting effects of glucagon. By integrating these three pathways, HS-10501-2 potentially offers superior efficacy in body weight reduction and glycemic control compared to single or dual incretin mimetics. It is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical evaluation.
