Overview

HS-1793 is a synthetic analogue of resveratrol designed to overcome the natural compound's limitations, such as photosensitivity, metabolic instability, and low bioavailability. By replacing the unstable double bond of resveratrol with a naphthalene ring, HS-1793 exhibits enhanced stability and significantly more potent antitumor, anti-inflammatory, and antiangiogenic activities. Preclinically, HS-1793 has demonstrated efficacy against various cancer types, including breast, colon, lung, prostate, and renal cancers, as well as multiple myeloma. Its mechanisms of action include the downregulation of hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), inhibition of the MDM2-p53 interaction to stabilize p53, downregulation of SIRT1, and suppression of the PI3K/AKT pathway, ultimately leading to G2/M cell cycle arrest and apoptosis.
