Overview

HS-601 is a preclinical-stage protein biologic developed by HaplnScience for the treatment of Dry Eye Disease (DED). It is an endogenous protein-based therapeutic derived from Hyaluronan and Proteoglycan Link Protein 1 (HAPLN1), a critical component of the extracellular matrix (ECM). The mechanism of action involves modulating the ocular ECM, influencing hyaluronic acid biology, and regulating inflammatory mediators to restore ocular surface homeostasis and treat the underlying pathology of DED.
