HS1940 is a preclinical, dual-target bispecific antibody biologic developed by Tharimmune. It is engineered to simultaneously bind and inhibit both Programmed Death-1 (PD-1) and Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF), two key proteins involved in tumor immune evasion and angiogenesis, respectively. The molecule uses a biparatopic design—binding two distinct epitopes on PD-1, including previously undruggable regions, while also targeting VEGF to block tumor blood vessel formation. This approach aims to achieve synergistic anti-tumor effects by releasing immune suppression via PD-1 blockade and starving tumors of nutrients through VEGF inhibition. HS1940 leverages Tharimmune’s proprietary EpiClick technology platform for modular antibody engineering, which allows the creation of smaller-sized bispecific antibodies with potentially superior tumor penetration compared to larger molecules. The drug is currently in preclinical development for neoplasms (cancers)[1][2][3][4][5][6][7].
