HS235 is a first-in-class, Fc-fused ligand trap designed to selectively and potently neutralize pathological Activins and growth differentiation factors (GDFs), which are validated drivers of cardiometabolic diseases such as obesity and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). Mechanistically, HS235 is an activin receptor ectodomain-based fusion protein that acts by binding and inhibiting these ligands, thereby modulating signaling pathways involved in fat accumulation, muscle mass regulation, cardiac function, and metabolic health. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that HS235 leads to fat-selective weight loss while preserving or increasing skeletal muscle mass. It has also shown efficacy in improving cardiac function and exercise capacity in animal models of obesity-related HFpEF. The drug is being developed by 35Pharma for the treatment of obesity and related cardiometabolic conditions[1][4][6][9].
