Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HS530 is a novel chelate-tethered small molecule inhibitor of ectopic heat shock protein 90 (eHSP90) developed by the Haystead Laboratory at Duke University. It is designed as a theranostic radiopharmaceutical platform that can be radiolabeled with various isotopes, such as Gallium-68 (Ga-68) for diagnostic positron emission tomography (PET) imaging or Lutetium-177 (Lu-177) for targeted radionuclide therapy. HS530 selectively targets eHSP90, which is ectopically expressed on the cell surface of multiple aggressive tumor types, including prostate and breast cancers, regardless of their prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) expression status. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that Ga-68-labeled HS530 selectively accumulates in tumor tissues in vivo with favorable pharmacokinetics and dosimetry, supporting its potential for both cancer detection and targeted therapy.
