HSK36357 is a selective small molecule inhibitor of the voltage-gated sodium channel Nav1.8 (SCN10A), developed by Tibet Ascent Pharmaceuticals, a subsidiary of Haisco Pharmaceutical Group. Nav1.8 is a sodium channel subtype primarily expressed in peripheral sensory neurons, specifically nociceptors, and plays a critical role in the transmission of pain signals. By selectively inhibiting Nav1.8, HSK36357 aims to provide effective analgesia for peripheral neuropathic pain conditions, such as diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain, while minimizing the side effects associated with non-selective sodium channel blockers that affect the central nervous system or cardiovascular system.
