HSK38008 is an orally bioavailable small molecule androgen receptor (AR) degrader developed by Hisun Pharmaceutical for the treatment of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). It is designed to overcome resistance to current anti-androgen therapies by inducing the degradation of both full-length androgen receptor (AR-FL) and the androgen receptor splice variant 7 (AR-V7). AR-V7 is a truncated version of the receptor that lacks the ligand-binding domain and is associated with poor prognosis and resistance to drugs like enzalutamide and abiraterone. By utilizing the cell's ubiquitin-proteasome system to eliminate these drivers of prostate cancer, HSK38008 represents a novel approach in the field of targeted protein degradation (TPD).
