HSK44459 is a novel, orally administered small molecule drug developed by Haisco Pharmaceutical Group. It acts as a highly selective phosphodiesterase 4B (PDE4B) inhibitor, designed to exert anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic effects primarily by inhibiting the exudation of inflammatory factors and the proliferation and activation of fibroblasts. Compared to traditional non-selective PDE4 inhibitors, selective inhibition of PDE4B is expected to maintain anti-inflammatory efficacy while reducing gastrointestinal and central nervous system side effects. Preclinical studies have demonstrated its efficacy in animal models of lung injury or pulmonary fibrosis with a favorable safety profile. The drug is currently in Phase 2 clinical development for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis[1][2][6].
