HSP-CAR19M is an autologous, second-generation chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy developed by the Fundacio Institut De Recerca De L'Hospital De La Santa Creu I Sant Pau. It is specifically engineered to target the CD19 antigen, which is widely expressed on B-cell malignancies. A distinguishing feature of HSP-CAR19M is its manufacturing process, which enriches for T-cell memory phenotypes (stem cell memory and central memory T cells) to enhance the persistence and long-term efficacy of the cells post-infusion. The CAR construct incorporates a 4-1BB (CD137) costimulatory domain and a CD3-zeta signaling domain. It is primarily being investigated for the treatment of relapsed or refractory B-cell lymphomas, including large B-cell lymphoma, mantle cell lymphoma, and follicular lymphoma.
