HSPA8 short hairpin RNA is an experimental RNA interference (RNAi) agent designed to silence the expression of the Heat shock protein family A member 8 (HSPA8) gene. HSPA8, also known as Heat shock cognate 71 kDa protein (Hsc70), is a constitutively expressed molecular chaperone that plays a critical role in protein folding, degradation, and cellular stress responses. In bladder cancer, HSPA8 is frequently overexpressed and correlates with advanced tumor stage and poor overall survival. The use of shRNA to knock down HSPA8 in preclinical models has demonstrated significant inhibition of tumor cell growth and migration, induction of apoptosis, and modulation of the tumor immune microenvironment, including increased infiltration of CD8+ T-cells and NK cells.
