HSPA8 siRNA knockdown refers to the experimental use of small interfering RNA (siRNA) to selectively silence the expression of heat shock cognate 71 kDa protein (HSPA8, also known as Hsc70). HSPA8 is a constitutively expressed molecular chaperone belonging to the heat shock protein 70 (Hsp70) family, which plays a critical role in protein folding, transport, and chaperone-mediated autophagy. In preclinical research, knockdown of HSPA8 has been shown to inhibit cell proliferation, promote apoptosis, and suppress migration and xenograft growth in various cancer models, including breast cancer and endometrial carcinoma. It is primarily utilized as a research tool for target validation and functional characterization of HSPA8 in oncology and inflammatory diseases.
