The HSV-2 DNA vaccine is a therapeutic DNA vaccine developed through a collaboration between Vical Incorporated and the University of Washington School of Medicine. It is designed for individuals already infected with herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2) with the goal of reducing or eliminating periodic viral flare-ups, viral shedding, and transmission.
