HT-1001

HT-1001 is a standardized botanical extract derived from North American ginseng (*Panax quinquefolius*), developed by Afexa Life Sciences (formerly CV Technologies). It was primarily investigated as a therapeutic candidate for the treatment of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and other chronic inflammatory conditions. HT-1001 is chemically distinct from CVT-E002 (the active ingredient in COLD-FX), featuring a specific profile of ginsenosides designed to modulate airway inflammation and oxidative stress. The drug reached Phase II clinical trials, where it was evaluated for its ability to improve lung function and reduce inflammatory markers. However, following the acquisition of Afexa by Valeant Pharmaceuticals in 2011, the clinical development of HT-1001 was discontinued as the company focused on the commercial COLD-FX brand.
