Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HT KOT is a proprietary polyherbal Ayurvedic formulation developed and manufactured by Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala for the management of hypertension and associated psychological conditions. The formulation is composed of three primary herbal ingredients: *Nardostachys jatamansi* (Jatamansi) rhizome, *Rauvolfia serpentina* (Sarpagandha) root, and *Elaeocarpus sphaericus* (Rudraksha) seed. It is indicated for Stage 1 and Stage 2 hypertension, as well as for the relief of nervousness, anxiety, and hyperactivity. Mechanistically, the drug operates through traditional Ayurvedic principles, specifically the regulation of Vyana Vayu to promote cardiovascular health and systemic calm. While it contains phytochemicals known for antihypertensive and sedative effects (such as those found in Sarpagandha), it does not have a defined modern molecular target in the conventional pharmaceutical sense.
