Overview

HT047 is a standardized herbal extract formulation developed for the treatment of acute ischemic stroke. It is composed of specific ratios of extracts from *Scutellaria baicalensis* Georgi (Baical skullcap) and *Gardenia jasminoides* Ellis (Gardenia fruit). The therapeutic rationale for HT047 lies in its multi-target neuroprotective properties, which include the reduction of neuroinflammation, oxidative stress, and neuronal apoptosis following cerebral ischemia. Developed by Hocheol Kim at Kyung Hee University, the candidate has undergone Phase II clinical testing to evaluate its efficacy in improving functional outcomes and neurological deficits in patients within the acute phase (within 14 days of onset) of ischemic stroke. The bioactive components, such as baicalin and geniposide, are believed to modulate inflammatory signaling pathways to preserve brain tissue and enhance recovery.
