Overview

HTF1037 is a mitochondrial uncoupler being developed by HighTide Therapeutics for the treatment of obesity. It works by disrupting the normal coupling between nutrient oxidation and adenosine triphosphate (ATP) production within the mitochondria. By dissipating the proton gradient across the inner mitochondrial membrane, the drug increases metabolic fuel consumption and energy expenditure without a corresponding increase in ATP synthesis, potentially leading to significant weight loss. As of August 2025, HTF1037 is in Phase 1 clinical development.
