Overview

HTF1057 is a small molecule mitochondrial uncoupler being developed by HighTide Therapeutics for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. Mitochondrial dysfunction is a hallmark of conditions such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and multiple sclerosis. By acting as a mitochondrial uncoupler, HTF1057 aims to reduce oxidative stress and prevent calcium overload within the mitochondria, potentially protecting neurons from degeneration. As of August 2025, the candidate is in Phase 1 clinical development, representing an expansion of HighTide's pipeline beyond its core focus on metabolic and digestive diseases.
