Overview

The **HTI immunogen** is a synthetic vaccine antigen designed to elicit robust T-cell responses targeting functionally constrained regions of HIV-1, including fragments from Gag, Pol, Vif, and Nef proteins selected based on their association with natural viral control in elite controllers. Developed by IrsiCaixa researchers led by Dr. Christian Brander and advanced by AELIX Therapeutics, it is delivered via heterologous prime-boost regimens using DNA.HTI, modified vaccinia Ankara (MVA.HTI), and chimpanzee adenovirus (ChAdOx1.HTI) vectors to stimulate broad, polyfunctional CD4+ and CD8+ T-cell immunity aimed at enhancing virologic control in antiretroviral therapy (ART)-suppressed individuals with HIV, potentially as a backbone for functional HIV cures.[1][3][5]
