Overview

HTL-001 is a therapeutic peptide developed by Hox Therapeutics for the treatment of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). It functions by disrupting the interaction between HOX transcription factors and their essential cofactor, PBX. This inhibition targets the overexpression of HOX genes, which is a common feature in various cancers, including GBM. HTL-001 is designed to cross the blood-brain barrier and has demonstrated the ability to induce both caspase-dependent and caspase-independent apoptosis in cancer cells. Preclinical studies in animal models have shown that systemic administration of HTL-001 resulted in improved control of subcutaneous murine and human xenograft tumors and improved survival in murine orthotopic models of brain cancer, with additional potential applications in prostate and breast cancers.
