Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HTPEP-002 is a peptide-based therapeutic candidate developed by Chengdu Huitai Biopharmaceutical for the treatment of liver cirrhosis and liver fibrosis. As part of the company's expanded TGF-β targeted pipeline, HTPEP-002 is designed to inhibit Transforming Growth Factor beta 1 (TGF-β1) signaling, which is a central mediator in the progression of tissue fibrosis. By targeting TGF-β1, the drug aims to suppress the activation of myofibroblasts and the subsequent excessive deposition of extracellular matrix in the liver. HTPEP-002 is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
