Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HTPEP-003 is a peptide-based therapeutic candidate developed by Chengdu Huitai Biopharmaceutical for the treatment of renal fibrosis. It functions as an inhibitor of Transforming Growth Factor beta 1 (TGF-β1) signaling, a central mediator in the pathogenesis of fibrotic diseases. By targeting TGF-β1, HTPEP-003 aims to mitigate the excessive accumulation of extracellular matrix proteins in the kidneys, thereby slowing or reversing the progression of renal fibrosis. The drug is currently in preclinical development as part of a broader pipeline of TGF-β1-targeted peptides.
