Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HTPEP-004 is a peptide-based therapeutic candidate developed by Chengdu Huitai Biopharmaceutical for the treatment of skin fibrosis. It functions by targeting and inhibiting Transforming Growth Factor-beta 1 (TGF-β1), a potent profibrotic cytokine that plays a central role in the activation of myofibroblasts and the accumulation of extracellular matrix components. By antagonizing TGF-β1 signaling, HTPEP-004 aims to prevent or reverse the pathological scarring and tissue stiffening characteristic of fibrotic skin disorders. The drug is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
