Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HU-045 is a purified botulinum toxin type A (BoNTA) developed by Huons Biopharma for the treatment of moderate to severe glabellar lines (frown lines). It is designed to reduce the risk of resistance and neutralizing antibody formation by eliminating non-toxin proteins and purifying the neurotoxin protein. The drug acts as a neuromuscular blocking agent, inhibiting acetylcholine release at neuromuscular junctions, thereby reducing muscle activity that causes wrinkles. Clinical trials have demonstrated its safety and efficacy in improving frown lines, with ongoing phase 3 studies in Korea[1][4][5][10].
