hu3D7 is a humanized T cell receptor-like antibody developed for the treatment of cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection, particularly following transplantation. It functions by specifically recognizing and binding to the pCMV-pp65495-503/HLA-A2 complex presented on the surface of CMV-infected cells. This binding leads to the efficient targeting and eradication of these infected cells, primarily through the activation of CD8+ T cells and the subsequent release of cytotoxic molecules like granzyme B and perforin, thereby exerting its antiviral effect.
