Huaier exosome-like nanoparticles (Huaier ELNs) are fungal-derived biologic nanoparticles isolated from the medicinal fungus *Trametes robiniophila Murr.* (Huaier). These nanoparticles are obtained through differential ultracentrifugation and contain a complex cargo of bioactive molecules, including microRNAs (miRNAs), proteins, and lipids. Huaier ELNs have demonstrated potent anti-breast cancer activity in preclinical models, where they suppress cell proliferation, migration, and invasion in vitro and inhibit tumor growth in vivo. The primary mechanism of action involves cross-kingdom regulation, where the enriched fungal miRNAs within the ELNs modulate the expression of multiple oncogenic genes in human host cells. As of early 2026, this compound remains in the preclinical development stage for the treatment of breast cancer.
