**Huaier polysaccharide** is the main bioactive component extracted from the medicinal fungus *Trametes robiniophila Murr* (Huaier), long used in traditional Chinese medicine. Huaier polysaccharide exhibits **antitumor**, **antiviral**, **immunomodulatory**, and **anti-inflammatory** properties. Its mechanisms include inhibition of tumor cell proliferation, induction of cell cycle arrest (often in the G1 phase), apoptosis via caspase pathways, impairment of DNA repair in malignant cells, inhibition of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) via autophagy, direct virus inactivation, suppression of viral attachment and entry, and immunoregulation affecting numerous immune and inflammatory pathways[1][2][4][5]. \nIt is mainly used as an adjunct in the treatment of various cancers (breast, liver, gastric, colon, melanoma, lung, prostate, fibrosarcoma), and shows benefit in psoriasis and potentially viral infections (e.g. pseudorabies virus).
