Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Huaiqihuang is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation composed of *Trametes robiniophila* Murr (Huaier), *Lycium barbarum* (Gouqi), and *Polygonatum sibiricum* (Huangjing). It is primarily used as an immunomodulatory adjuvant therapy for pediatric and adult immune-mediated conditions, including IgA nephropathy, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and chronic immune thrombocytopenia (CITP). The formulation works by balancing inflammatory cytokines, specifically reducing B-cell activating factor (BAFF), interleukin-10 (IL-10), and monocyte chemoattractant protein 1 (MCP-1), while increasing interleukin-2 (IL-2) levels. Clinical studies have demonstrated its efficacy in reducing proteinuria, lowering disease activity scores, and decreasing recurrence rates in autoimmune disorders.
