Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Huaizhen Yanggan capsule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) therapeutic developed by Shuguang Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. Based on TCM principles, the formulation is designed to "nourish the liver" (Yanggan), a strategy employed because the liver is traditionally viewed as the regulator of tendons and ligaments. By strengthening these tissues and potentially exerting anti-inflammatory effects, the capsule aims to reduce pain and improve mobility in patients suffering from degenerative joint disease. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials to establish its efficacy and safety profile.
