Huangbai Bawei Pian (黄柏八味片) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) composed of eight herbal ingredients: Huang Bai (Phellodendron bark), Xiang Mo (fragrant ink/charcoal), Zhi Zi (Gardenia fruit), Gan Cao (Licorice root), Hong Hua (Safflower), Bi Ba (Long Pepper), Niu Dan Fen (Ox Gall Powder), and Hei Yun Xiang (Black Cloud Incense). It is traditionally used for its properties of clearing heat, cooling blood, and solidifying essence. The drug is indicated for conditions such as kidney heat, urinary tract infections, hematuria, and excessive menstruation. It is also applied in cases of pyelonephritis, cystitis, prostatitis, gonorrhea, various gynecological inflammations (adnexitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, salpingitis), dysmenorrhea, irregular menstruation, male infertility related to sperm issues, nocturnal emission, sores, eczema, and dermatitis.
