Huangbai Capsule

Huangbai Capsule is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal product developed and manufactured by Guangdong Xinfeng Pharmaceutical. The primary active ingredient is Phellodendron bark (*Phellodendron chinense* or *Phellodendron amurense*), known as Huangbai in TCM. It is formulated as an oral capsule containing yellow powder derived from the herbal material. According to TCM principles, it functions to clear heat, dry dampness, purge fire, and detoxify. It is clinically indicated for a variety of conditions associated with 'damp-heat' and 'fire-toxicity,' including dysentery, jaundice, vaginal discharge, urinary tract infections (hot strangury), and skin conditions such as eczema and carbuncles. Pharmacologically, Phellodendron extracts have demonstrated broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against various pathogenic bacteria, including *Staphylococcus aureus*, *Salmonella typhi*, and *Mycobacterium tuberculosis*, as well as certain fungi.
