Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Huanghuahao pollen drops is a sublingual allergen immunotherapy (SLIT) developed by Zhejiang Wolwo Bio-Pharmaceutical for the treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis caused by *Artemisia annua* (sweet wormwood) pollen. The product consists of a standardized extract of Huanghuahao pollen. By administering increasing doses of the allergen sublingually, the treatment aims to induce immunological tolerance, shifting the immune response from a Th2-mediated allergic reaction toward a Th1 and regulatory T-cell (Treg) response, thereby reducing symptoms and the need for rescue medication during pollen season. It was approved by the NMPA in China in 2021 for use in both adults and children.
