Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Huangjia Ruangan Granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by Shuguang Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B-associated liver fibrosis. The formulation is specifically designed to address the TCM syndrome of liver stagnation and spleen deficiency combined with blood stasis and collateral obstruction. It is currently being investigated in Phase II clinical trials as an adjunctive therapy to nucleoside analogs like entecavir. The granules aim to exert anti-fibrotic effects by modulating inflammatory pathways and reducing the accumulation of extracellular matrix in the liver, thereby improving liver stiffness and histological outcomes in patients with chronic hepatitis B.
