Overview
Huangkui Capsules are a Chinese Patent Medicine (CPM) derived from the ethanol extract of the flowers of *Abelmoschus manihot* (L.) Medic. It is widely used in China for the treatment of various kidney diseases, particularly chronic kidney disease (CKD) and diabetic kidney disease (DKD). The drug's therapeutic effects are primarily attributed to its ability to reduce proteinuria and protect renal function through anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-fibrotic pathways. It contains several active flavonoids, such as rutin, hyperoside, and myricetin. Clinical studies have demonstrated its efficacy as an adjunctive therapy to standard treatments like ACE inhibitors or ARBs.
