It is primarily indicated for the treatment of diabetic kidney disease (DKD), also known as diabetic nephropathy. The formulation is based on the traditional Huangqi San prescription, which typically features *Astragalus membranaceus* (Huangqi) as the principal ingredient. Its mechanism of action involves multi-target effects characteristic of TCM, including anti-inflammatory, anti-fibrotic, and antioxidant properties, as well as the regulation of glucose metabolism and improvement of renal hemodynamics. The drug aims to reduce proteinuria and delay the progression of renal dysfunction in diabetic patients by inhibiting pathways such as TGF-beta/Smad signaling.
