Overview
Huangqin total aglycone capsule is a botanical drug candidate derived from the roots of *Scutellaria baicalensis* (Huangqin). It contains a purified mixture of flavonoid aglycones, primarily baicalein, wogonin, and oroxylin A. Developed by China Pharmaceutical University, the drug is being evaluated for the treatment of NIH category III chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS), specifically targeting the 'damp-heat in the lower burner' pattern in Traditional Chinese Medicine. The mechanism involves anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities, likely through the inhibition of pro-inflammatory cytokines and modulation of oxidative stress pathways.
