Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Huangzhihua Oral Liquid is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) developed by Jiangsu Kanion Pharmaceutical, primarily indicated for the treatment of neonatal jaundice (hyperbilirubinemia). The formulation is composed of extracts from *Scutellaria baicalensis* (Huangqin), *Gardenia jasminoides* (Zhizi), *Lonicera japonica* (Jinyinhua), and *Rheum palmatum* (Dahuang). It functions by clearing heat, detoxifying the body, and removing dampness-heat, which facilitates the excretion of bilirubin through the gallbladder and intestines. It is widely used in pediatric clinical practice in China as an adjuvant or primary therapy for damp-heat type jaundice, often in combination with phototherapy to accelerate the reduction of serum bilirubin levels.
